GenAI in Insurance

 

GenAI is making waves in insurance, but its impact on actuarial work is still developing. While underwriting and claims management are seeing early adoption, actuaries have yet to fully integrate GenAI into daily processes. However, its potential is clear—helping with coding, process automation, and results explanation. Challenges like data limitations, governance, and model accuracy remain, but as the technology matures, actuaries will need new skills in programming and AI validation. Ultimately, GenAI won't replace actuarial judgment but will shift the focus toward deeper analysis and strategic decision-making.
